8 October 2026 · Version 2.2
- No download prompts on the home screen: recordings go straight to our server. If it isn't answering, you can download the voice pack or wait, and it carries on when the server is back. Voice packs for offline use are on the Voice packs page.
- A redesigned status page with 30 days of uptime for each service, checked every 5 minutes, and a list of recent incidents.
8 October 2026 · Version 2.1
- New Translate page in the menu: paste text or pick a saved transcript, choose the languages, and copy or download the translation. Translate on a finished transcript takes you there and starts straight away, and the translation is saved back into the recording.
- No download (Quick mode) is now the default, because it's fastest.
- Transcripts have clear Translate and Export buttons.
- The home screen lets you choose No download or Download, and Lite or Full, for each language. Recordings can be downloaded (audio or text), and each transcript shows how long it took.
8 October 2026 · Version 2.0
- Quick mode: transcribe without downloading a voice pack. Your recording is transcribed on our own server in London with the same N-ATLaS model and deleted straight after. On-device stays the default and works offline.
- A redesigned network status panel on the Voice packs page.
8 October 2026 · Version 1.9
- Networks list: more precise. Shows outages by state (including operators' own outage statements), groups mobile and home/office internet providers (Spectranet, Cobranet, ipNX and more, each listed separately), and only says “Good” when people have actually measured good speeds.
- Pages now use the full width of laptop and desktop screens, with a contents list beside longer pages.
8 October 2026 · Version 1.8
- The home headline is now fully in the language you choose.
- Voice packs page: a list of the main networks near you (MTN, Airtel, Glo…), each marked Good, Fair, Slow or Down, so you can switch before downloading.
8 October 2026 · Version 1.7
- New Voice packs page: download any language (Lite or Full), or all four, ahead of time; see storage used; delete packs; install the app.
- First visit: an offer to download your language on Wi-Fi (never forced).
- A warning before downloading when your network (for example MTN, Airtel, Glo) looks slow or down right now. Your phone runs a small speed test itself, so the warning works even when the network is too poor to reach our server.
8 October 2026 · Version 1.6
- While a voice pack downloads on the home screen, a download ring and counter take the place of the record button.
- Fixes for some Android phones: the app now always loads matching versions of its files, and recovers by itself if loading fails.
- The menu's close button works while the menu is open; a bigger "Tap to record".
8 October 2026 · Version 1.5
- Faster voice-pack downloads: each file downloads as one stream again (still resumable), served from Cloudflare's data centre nearest to you.
- The recording and transcribing screens are fully green, with white text and buttons.
- An animated logo.
8 October 2026 · Version 1.4
- New home: transcribe.extrafemi.com.
- An animated outline of a landmark for each language on the home screen.
- Who is this for: new section on taking minutes of meetings.
- New pages: security, live service status (also shown as a coloured pulse in the menu), and these release notes.
- A full site footer on every page except the home screen.
- iPhone fixes: the microphone now records reliably in Safari; voice packs download 4 pieces at a time, recover from stalled connections and no longer need a second copy at the end; clear error messages with a Try again button.
8 October 2026 · Version 1.3
- Long recordings: up to 60 minutes, saved as they are written, and you can continue an unfinished transcript.
- The app opens and transcribes offline once a voice pack is downloaded.
- A bigger record button with more room on phones.
- Anonymous usage counts, without cookies or IDs, to stay within the N-ATLaS licence.
8 October 2026 · Version 1.2
- Voice-pack downloads resume where they stopped if the connection drops.
- A smaller Lite voice pack (4-bit, 203 MB) alongside the Full pack (8-bit, 287 MB), chosen when the download starts.
- Translate and Export menus; export as copy, text file or PDF.
- Contact form, How it works, About N-ATLaS and Who is this for pages.
8 October 2026 · Version 1.0
- First release: record or upload, transcribe on your device with N-ATLaS, edit, export, and translate on request.
